In Japan, “fortune-telling” is mostly palmistry, tarot reading and astrology.

In India, “Fortuntelling” is mostly Indian astrology and palmistry. (However, few Indians knew Indian astrology, and I had the impression that palmistry was widely recognized.)
In all countries, “Palmistry” was widely recognized.
However, there are some countries, like New Zealand, where “Fortuntelling” itself is not recognized.
